Heidelberg Materials Benelux is currently looking for a

COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR AGGREGATES BENE

to join the team at our headquarters located in Braine-l’Alleud.

 

This strategic role will lead commercial, marketing, and logistics for the Aggregates business line, focusing on sales growth, sustainability, and market share. It includes overseeing team development, ensuring regulatory compliance, and capturing market intelligence to maximize opportunities.

 

Your tasks & responsibilities:

What are we expecting from our Commercial Director?

  • Strategic Leadership by engaging and managing the sales, marketing, customer service and logistic teams with clear objectives and personal development plans. Actively support our vision and strengthen key industry relationships to enhance our market position and influence. You will be part of the management team of the Aggregates business line and as such you will contribute to shaping and implementing the vision and strategy of this division.

  • Sales and Distribution Management by overseeing Customer Account Management to maximize asset use and profitability, reporting monthly on sales performance and market trends. Work with operations to ensure efficient resource use, aiming to achieve volume, market share, price, and margin targets.

  • Commercial Excellence by enhancing sales processes for better account management and margin optimization while promoting digital tool adoption to increase productivity and insights.

  • Sustainability Leadership by working closely with our ESG department to advance our sustainability roadmap, focusing on areas such as recycled aggregates and by-products valorization.

  • Marketing & Technical Support by developing market-specific value propositions and providing the team with tools to leverage them, while providing strong technical support and exploring innovative differentiation. Represent Heidelberg Materials in industry federations and standards authorities, staying ahead of emerging trends.

  • Compliance by ensuring all commercial activities are conducted in full compliance with statutory regulations and company policies.

Job requirements

Your profile:

Who’s our future Commercial Director?

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.

  • Fluent in English, French, and Dutch.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in sales management, with a proven ability to lead teams on a journey of commercial excellence.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to drive strategic decisions and foster stakeholder relationships.

  • Experience negotiating large, complex contracts, optimizing sales processes, and defining market-driven value propositions.

  • Analytical and customer-focused, with the ability to identify and act on market trends.

  • Demonstrated track record in profit generation, pricing, and continuous improvement.

  • Results-oriented, proactive, and flexible, with a willingness to embrace change and innovation.
