Heidelberg Materials Benelux is currently looking for a

LEGAL COUNSEL CIVIL & COMMERCIAL LAW

to join the Legal team at our Headquarters in Braine-l’Alleud.

The purpose of the legal counsel function is to deliver practical legal support in civil and commercial law, focusing on contract management, compliance, and risk mitigation. The role supports all business lines with a service-oriented approach.

You will be based in Braine l´Alleud, Belgium and you will report to the Legal Director Benelux.

Your tasks & responsibilities:

• You will provide competent support on Civil Law and Commercial Law.

• You will draft and review contracts, you will conduct negotiations and support defense of claims.

• You will give a particular focus on the preparation and the negotiation of contracts for procurement, engineering and construction and related documents.

• Yo will prepare templates and you will use digital tools to make work and control more efficient.

• You will prepare presentations, trainings, and reporting.

• You will support the implementation of the compliance programs of Heidelberg Materials Group.

• You will communicate results in international and interdisciplinary teams.

• You will be a business partner to all three business lines (cement, ready-mixed concrete, aggregates) with an adequate support service mindset.

Your profile:

• You are a qualified Belgian lawyer (master´s degree) with a focus on contract and commercial law and related areas.

• You have a good understanding of Competition and Corporate Law.

• You have a first professional experience in a corporate or private, business-focused, practice.

• You are fluent in Dutch, with a strong proficiency in French & English.

• You demonstrate openness for the technical and commercial aspects of the construction materials business.

• You work with an hands-on and proactive approach and you have good communication skills.

• You are ready and able to work in interdisciplinary teams.

• You show a high level of commitment.
