Heidelberg Materials Benelux is currently looking for an 

INFORMATION SECURITY & COMPLIANCE OFFICER 

to join the team at our headquarters located in Braine-l’alleud.


Your tasks & responsibilities:

  • Policy Management: Collaborate with IT, Legal, and HR teams to review and update IT and data management policies. Ensure policies are relevant, accessible, and align with HM Group standards.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Develop new methods for monitoring compliance with internal policies and Group information security directives.
  • Documentation and Analysis: Periodically review and update the IT asset risk register to reflect changes in the IT landscape, emerging threats, and resilience measures.
  • Project Ownership/Support: Lead or support information security projects, including business continuity planning (BCP) and data migrations. Provide input on architecture, process, and communication.
  • Incident Support: Assist during information-related incidents.
  • Data Management Guidance: Work with IT and business colleagues to understand data management needs and create secure, practical solutions.
  • User Awareness and Engagement: Develop creative campaigns to raise user awareness about their role in information security.
  • Certification and Audit: Contribute to measures ensuring adherence to recognized information security standards (e.g., NIST). Support compliance with legislative norms (e.g., NIS-2) and work with auditors on information security topics.
  • Reporting and Management Information: Produce actionable reports based on compliance monitoring, training participation, and simulated attacks.

Job requirements

Your profile:

  • You have a degree or an equivalent qualification in IT.
  • You demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous learning in evolving information and threat landscapes.
  • You are detail-oriented and possess the ability to work independently.
  • You have effective communication skills and are capable of presenting information clearly.
  • You are familiar with basic project management tools and phases of the project lifecycle .
  • You have the capabilities and willingness to work in an international and multicultural environment, with an emphasis on service orientation.
  • You have the capability to challenge business processes constructively and can convincingly explain the necessity for policies and standards.
  • You are willing to travel within the Benelux region, approximately 20% of the time.
  • You are proficient in MS Office.
  • You have excellent English language skills and are proficient in French or Dutch (ideally both).
