Heidelberg Materials Benelux is currently looking for a

LOGISTICS COUNTRY LEAD BUYER

to join the team at our headquarters located in Braine-l’Alleud.

 

Your tasks & responsibilities:

  • You develop and maintain category strategies at the BeNe (Belgium–Netherlands) level, in alignment with the Group guidelines.

  • While building and maintaining strong suppliers relationships, you lead commercial negotiations and oversee their onboarding and performance evaluation.

  • You manage all sourcing activities within the category (RFI, RFP, tenders), by drafting, reviewing, and managing the contracts, in collaboration with the Legal Department.

  • You identify and implement cost-saving opportunities using a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) approach; you monitor and report those savings on a quarterly basis.

  • You take full ownership of the logistics category at the BeNe level and participate in all related activities, including Market/Product/Technology (MPT) analysis.

  • You ensure full compliance with internal policies and guidelines, Code of Conduct, and strategic objectives and foster cross-functional synergies.

  • You proactively address obstacles and manage risks, including crisis situations, while maintaining a strong focus on results.

  • You act as a driver of innovation and change by designing and implementing change management strategies, with a focus on sustainability initiatives, e-auctions, and other transformation projects.

  • You manage and deliver all value-added reporting for the category to support business and procurement decision-making.

  • You provide clear direction and lead by example, by communicating effectively and actively listening to others.

Job requirements

Your profile:

  • You have a Master’s degree with a technical or economic focus.

  • You already have experience in logistics (barging experience is a plus) and/or procurement.

  • You are fluent in French, Dutch, and English (written and spoken).

  • You have a strong technical understanding of SAP and related business processes.

  • You are analytical and a real problem-solver.

  • You are a skilled negotiator with strong communication abilities, allowing your to build strong relationships with demanding stakeholders.

  • You are willing to travel within the Benelux region.
